Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 June 2026
The short version: RECP does not collect, sell, rent, or share your personal data. There are no analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers, and no servers operated by us.
Where your data lives
Your recipes, libraries, tags and images are stored on your device and in your own private iCloud account using Apple CloudKit. Apple syncs this data between devices signed in to your Apple Account. The developer has no access to your private library.
Sharing a library
When you choose to share a library, its contents are made available through Apple iCloud to the people you invite. They can view and edit the shared library. You can stop sharing, or leave a shared library, at any time from within the app.
Public Catalogue (opt-in)
If you tap Publish, the recipe you publish — its title, description, ingredients, instructions, photo, and the author name or pseudonym you provide — is copied to a public iCloud database and becomes visible to other RECP users. Only recipes you explicitly publish are public; please don’t publish anything you wish to keep private. You can remove a published recipe with Unpublish, though cached copies on other devices may persist until they refresh.
AI features (optional)
RECP has no built-in AI service. If you enter your own OpenAI-compatible API URL and key in Settings, the recipe text you choose to parse (and prompts used to generate images) are sent to that endpoint you specify. That processing is governed by the terms and privacy policy of the provider you chose; RECP does not operate it and does not receive a copy of your data. Leave these settings blank to keep the feature off.
Reminders (optional)
With your permission, RECP can add a recipe’s ingredients to Apple Reminders on your device using Apple’s EventKit. This happens locally; no data is sent to us through this feature. You can revoke access in your system Privacy settings.
Permissions we use
- iCloud — to store and sync your recipes and to enable sharing.
- Network — to reach iCloud, the public catalogue, and any AI endpoint you configure.
- Reminders — optional, only when you add ingredients to a list.
Data retention & deletion
You are in control. Delete recipes and libraries in the app, and those deletions sync through iCloud. Remove catalogue entries with Unpublish. To erase everything, delete the app and remove its data from your iCloud settings.
Children
RECP is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
